.porn .sucks

Two new domains, .porn and .sucks, are about to be unfurled on the world, and they've got brands in a veritable tizzy in terms of what to do about them.

Do companies and celebs snag them before some ne'er-do-well sullies their good name, or do they just chill, assuming that the general public will assume some vindictive, paste eating 20-something, living in his folks' basement, is behind such shenanigans? Trademarked brands and celebs have the right of first refusal on the domains until June 1st, and Taylor Swift, for one, didn't leave anything to chance. She quickly bought TaylorSwift.sucks and TaylorSwift.porn when she had the opportunity.

But, could celebs or brands use these domains to their advantage? Maybe The Food Network could buy Food.porn or Coke could buy Thirst.sucks? In fact, two brands near and dear to my heart, Lagunitas and Primus could benefit greatly from Lagunitas.sucks and Primus.sucks, respectively.

Hmmm ... I think I'm on to something here. I may just need to join the legion of slimy cyber-squatters.
