I definitely can't count myself among the most devoted of the Arby's clientele. In fact, my last encounter with the chain was as a young, broke college lad who was lured to the glowing Big Hat by its offer of 2 succulent Beef n' Cheddars for just $2. Let's just say that meal ended poorly.
But, I don't hold a grudge. I may very well try them again, who knows? Hell, maybe I'll be lured back by the pull of their world record-breaking 13-hour commercial!
Yep, you read that right. 13 hours. That amounts to a $6 billion Super Bowl ad to you and me, kids. And, you can join the fun by viewing the ad, consisting of smoked brisket being ... um ... smoked, on the Arby's website. Maybe they're capitalizing on the popularity of Pharrell's hat, or maybe they're following in the footsteps of Warhol's "Empire" ... just with more beef and less Empire State Building.
Either way, this is an unprecedented marketing tactic. Maybe it'll work to the point where people nationwide will be exclaiming ...
